Chefs in Schools celebrated kitchen teams on International School School Meals Day. This is Anthony, who stepped up to be an assistant at St Ann’s, a school in England, when Covid left them short staffed. Alongside the mains at Lampton School, there are vegetable sides, thanks to Chefs in Schools. Today it’s a rainbow carrot, kale, tahini and herb salad. Eileen cooks the carrots first, then mixes the sauce through and adds in the kale.

An Elementary School in Japan had a lunch of bread with apricot jam, milk, vegetable soup, salad and macaroni and cheese gratin. The food was handmade from scratch – and the food on the yellow tray is a lactose allergy version.
